Please tell us a little bit about the history of Colegio El Camino.

It all started due to the educational level existing back then (1983), that was when along with other parents, we got together to organize and create Colegio El Camino, Coppola and Parr families agreed with these idea and the objective to contribute to educational growth in Los Cabos.

Everybody joined forces, my father donated the land, architects donated the project, families donated material for construction, and I traveled to Guadalajara, México, to gather the teaching staff. When we flew in the Staff some of the hotels provided complimentary accommodations for them.

Every effort we have made ever since, has been always team work, and thanks to that we are able to grow year after year.

Explain briefly what you consider makes Colegio El Camino the best School in Cabo.

Our main focus to have the highest level possible of education has kept us as a constant leader in our community. Just like our shield says, our objectives are Honor, Academics and Sports. Physical health allows for a clear mind, honor is the basics of human foundations and academics focused in maintaining higher educational standards. Carmen Echeveste former Principal of the School gave her best with hard work to provide with magnificent methods of teaching.

Can you share your personal experience as a former Colegio El Camino parent or student?

The moment my son applied for universities in the US, and got accepted to three different institutions was a great proof of the educational level we can provide our students.

What would you say to prospect parents who are considering enrolling their children into Colegio El Camino?

As a member of the BOD we implement efforts on a daily basis to maintain ourselves as a top leader in our community.

Please tell us a little bit about the history of Colegio El Camino.

Colegio El Camino was created in the 80`s, based on the growing need for education in Los Cabos, business owners that arrived to Cabo demanded high level education for their children in a controlled environment as opposed to public school system, which at the time were already over populated.

It was the Diaz Rivera, Parr and Coppola Families that join efforts to create a Nonprofit Organization, which was in charge of building the very first classroom.

Explain briefly what you consider makes Colegio El Camino the best School in Los Cabos.

Colegio El Camino as a Nonprofit Organization offers the advantage to re.invest the money that comes into the school from tuition, allowing for the school´s self-sufficiency. All of this with the mere vision of enabling any future program or project for the school, such as: recreational courts, classrooms, etc.

Can you share your personal experience as a former Colegio El Camino parent or student?

My personal experience as a proud parent and as a member of the Board of Directors is that the administrative board has been very grateful. Dealing and being part of a board that manages everything involving long term projects and strategies to continue developing the school into a bigger and better organization is always a great way to get involved in the development of the institution.

El Camino prepared me well for a university in the US; it provided me with a caring environment where my education was paramount and where I was encouraged to think for my self while having a sense of belonging.

What would you say to prospect parents who are considering enrolling their children into Colegio El Camino?

Great core values, exciting changes being implemented to make it the best school in the region, vested and invested board members, teaches and students. Please tell us a little bit about the history of Colegio El Camino.

Colegio El Camino first opened its doors over 30 years go, in response to a need that the founding families saw in the educational system. It began with only a handful of classrooms Kinder to 4th grade, open to any and all members of the community. 3 families worked together to create a space for their children and the children of Cabo San Lucas to learn and grow.

Aside from the wonderful news that we are now an IB School, Colegio El Camino has always fostered a sense of identity, a pride in being part of the El Camino family. This gives our students a place where they belong, where they can grow and explore.

Can you share your personal experience as a former Colegio El Camino parent or student?

On the day Colegio El Camino opened its doors, I was part of the small group of students waiting to see our new school. I started second grade on that day and graduated High School 11 years later. It was a wonderful school to go to, growing year after year. There were some truly wonderful teachers that made learning challenging and fun.

Don´t think twice! Colegio El Camino is now on the vanguard of education, with our IB accreditation, without sacrificing a feeling of community.
